El MACBA is the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona is in Plaza de Angels at the top of Raval. It was opened on the 28th November 1995, having been designed by Richard Meier and partners. The building hints at modernism although it is very different to any of the other modernist work around the city. Instead of bright colours and curved lines like a lot of Gaudi's work, it has sharp lines and is simply white with one front mostly glass providing a great view of the square and allowing lots of natural light into the galleries.

The Gracia Arts Project is an ex-pat NGO on Calle San Honorat in Barrio Gótico, which was set up in 2000 as a way to collaborate a network of unknown artists and consciously pursue their talent and display their work. GAP recruits artists of all disciplines and then exhibits their work, a different exhibition every month in three languages, Catalan, Castillian and English. They do not have any specific criteria each artist has to fulfill, they are open to all sorts of expression and are keen to expand and broaden the abilities of individual, imaginative people.
