Eating out in Eixample
Cerveceria Catalana is in the heart of Eixample and is an absolutely brilliant place to go in a group or just a deux for tapas. Although it isn't dark and smoky with an old man serving tapas and only 3 tables in the whole place it doesn't take any authenticity away from the food, and testament to this is the non stop queues. Don't be deterred though, quite often you only need to fight your way to get you name down and you will be seated straight away. If not you can always go for a quick drink and come back when they have room for you.
The menu is so well priced and has all the classics like croquettes, tortilla, pimientos de padrón, tomato bread and so much more. The cava is delicious and the house bottle is very drinkable and well priced. The service is quick and easy and the whole experience is thorougly enjoyable. If you are in a couple you could always start with a half bottle of cava and a few pintxos at the bars at the entrance, or if you are passing by and feel like a snock you can drop in and recharge for a moment.
