The London Bar is as close you as you will find to a pub in Barcelona yet it is more charming because it has local history. Don't let the name fool you that it is going to be another British/Irish pub serving Guinness, with no tapas. This bar has seen the like of Picasso, Dali and Hemingway enjoy a drink within its walls and the interior decoration has been kept exactly how it was when it was first opened in 1910. At night it also offers live music, with a mix of classic pop/ rock guitar songs, anything that can be plated with an acoustic, a bass, a drum kit and a piano.

In Spain films are mostly dubbed (doblado), but there are also cinemas showing movies in original version (version orginale). Here is a list of the cinemas, which show films in English ordered by districts.

Font Magica is a huge fountain, which was built at the bottom of the Montjuic hill to make the World Exhibition in 1929 even more attractive. The main designer was Carles Buigas. Unfortunately, after years of use the fountain and the grounds around became more and more neglected. In 1992 on the occasion of the upcoming Olympic Games fountain was restored to the original splendor. Nowadays the fountain is one of the most impressive touristic attractions of Barcelona. Lots of people go to Montjuic to see the marvelous spectacle from water, light and classical music. Watching this gives a feeling of seeing pure magic, like in a Disney movies.
La Champagneria is one of the most authentic Spanish bars in Barcelona. As a first timer you might think you had walked into a barn; meat hanging from the ceiling, rubbish on the floor and no chairs, but you could not be more wrong.
As you might guess by the name, this bar serves only one drink…cava. However it has a huge range thereof, and you can buy it in any quantity, from una copa (a small glass) for only 90 cence to a bottle of varying prices.
The bar is packed every night which is probably why they don’t have chairs, to maximise capacity, but it is not only the cava which draws in the locals.
Sugar is a small bar tucked away in Barrio Gotico, just off the busy street of Ferran. Admittedly it looks rather like a brothel from the outside, with its red light emanating down the dark alley-way, but get closer and you will find a unique and lively bar open till 2 in the morning.
Often there is someone handing out flyers on the corner offering you a free chupito with your first drink, not that you will need it as during the middle of the week beers are only 1.50 euros, mixers 2.50 euros, and cocktails 3.50 euros.
The bar itself oozes a calm and relaxing atmosphere as there are very few normal seats. Instead there are mountains of cushions to sit on and little alcoves to get comfy in.
Open until 6 or seven in the morning, with a great atmosphere, this is an authentic Barcelona afters Bar. Cheap drinks (2,50€ for a beer or 4-5€ for a long drink.
With original (read shabby) decor, and an eclectic mix of clientele, entering this bar is like entering a different world.
Steeped in Tradition and a great atmosphere.
The shutter goes down halfway at around 3:00am, but the bar is still open.
Arc del Teatre 11Barcelona, 08001
Opening Hours: Wed – Sat 22:00 – 06:00
