London Bar
The London Bar is as close you as you will find to a pub in Barcelona yet it is more charming because it has local history. Don't let the name fool you that it is going to be another British/Irish pub serving Guinness, with no tapas. This bar has seen the like of Picasso, Dali and Hemingway enjoy a drink within its walls and the interior decoration has been kept exactly how it was when it was first opened in 1910. At night it also offers live music, with a mix of classic pop/ rock guitar songs, anything that can be plated with an acoustic, a bass, a drum kit and a piano.
The drinks in there are not extortionate for Barcelona but they are at the higher end of the scale for bars. A mediana (bottle of beer) is aroubd 3 euros and a spirit mixer pushing 6 or 7. The place gets very busy but there is table service if you have cash on you which means you can settle in and enjoy the music.
It has a great atmosphere and is well located for a stop off if you are wandering around Raval or the Gothic area. To find out what music is being played check out their website.
